ELIGIBILITY –
All Major Trophy Events require Members to be financial for the current year and have an Official Handicap
HEAT OR INCLEMENT WEATHER –
Course may be closed to all Competitions by Management.
Once a general round has commenced if the course becomes unplayable due to severe weather conditions (e.g. Greens underwater; extreme wind gusts etc.), the Captain or Vice Captain can make the decision to abandon play.
REPRESENTATION OF YPLGC -
Dress Code: When representing YPLGC at any events members are required to wear Club Uniform.
TEE OFF TIMES –
Eastern Standard Time – Tee off is from 8am
Daylight Savings Time – Tee off from 7.30am
COMPETITION FEES -
Competition Fees – Tuesday, Thursday and Monday fees apply as determined annually by YPLGC.
2024 Competition Fee is $5.00
There will no longer be a refund of competition fees on Tuesdays or Thursdays if the competition is cancelled once payment has been received.
2024 PRIZE MONEY
TUESDAY – Winner $20.00 per grade.
NTP & Longest Drive (alternating weeks) $5.00 per grade
9 Holes Competition Winner $15.00
Putting $10.00
THURSDAY – Winner $20.00 per grade.
NTP & Longest Drive (alternating weeks): a golf ball is given.
MONDAY – Winner $15.00
HANDICAPS – A grade 0-22, B grade 23-31, C grade 32-45
SLOW PLAY – It is the lowest handicapper in the group’s responsibility to keep players moving.
The suggested time for a round is about 4 hours 15 minutes.
If there is a fairway or more gap in front of a group it is suggested players break off into pairs to catch up.
COMPETITIONS
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
Three rounds of 18 holes stroke as stated in the Syllabus, with the option of an additional round if required due to inclement weather conditions.
If the Captain or Vice Captain make the decision to abandon play either before or during the round due to severe weather conditions the additional nominated date/day will then be used.
Order of rounds if inclement weather rule is implemented will be as per the following example: Round 1, week 1 play, Round 2 week 2 washoutà Round 3 becomes week 2. Optional designated day becomes week 3.
Competitors stay in the same GRADE they are in at the start of the competition but play with New Daily Handicap if they change during the competition.
Players must indicate their intention to play in the Championships by signing the sheet provided prior to commencement of play in round 1.
Scoring Structure for Championships – The following will apply. Player 1 scores player 2, Player 3 scores Player 4 within each group
Round 1 - Players will be sent out in Grade / Handicap order
Round 2 and 3 – Players will be sent out in order of cumulative Gross Score.
In the event of a Tie, a playoff will be held over 18 holes on a day mutually agreed by the players and Match Committee. The players will use the handicap they played off during the final round of competition.
Club Champion - Best Aggregate Gross Score.
Nett Championship – To run concurrently with Gross Championship.
Club Champion – Gross – Perpetual Trophy and name on Honour Board
Remaining Grades Champions Gift Only.
Nett Champion Gift Only.
Players not playing in the Championships may play at the end of the field and will be included in the day’s competition.
MONTHLY MEDALS TUESDAY
18 Hole Stroke round to be played 1st Tuesday of the Month for the syllabus year.
If heat/inclement weather applies on a monthly medal day, it will be postponed to another Tuesday in that month.
Should a tie occur, a maximum of 2 additional games will be played. If a tie still remains both players will receive a medal
Monthly Medal Winner will receive a Medal.
When a player reaches a score of 10 strokes on any hole she may pick up without penalty, and her score
will be recorded as 10, under Strict Conditions.
Conditions:- This ruling will apply to
Any player whose Nett score for an 18 hole stroke round is 100 or more on 3 occasions in a calendar year.
New Players with a handicap of 40 or more in their first 3 stroke rounds.
Players returning from long term injury or illness. This ruling will be applied at the discretion of the Match Committee. Benefits: Speed up play. Reduce Stress.
MEDAL OF MEDALISTS TUESDAY
Played on the last Tuesday in October.
A Committee member or experienced player will play in each group and score the champion playing.
Medal will be presented on the day of play but will be returned for engraving and then presented at the Trophy Presentation Day.

FOURSOMES CHAMPIONS
This competition comprises 2 rounds of 18 Hole Stroke Foursomes.
The Committee determined that the Club Foursomes DO NOT need to be played on consecutive weeks.
Selected pairs will remain the same for both rounds, however, Substitutions will be permitted in the event of illness or injury to a player.
Players not playing in the Foursomes competition may play at the end of the field and be in the competition of the day with a partner.

MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP
Qualification: Players must indicate their intention to play in the championships by signing the sheet prior to the 1st qualifying round. 2 qualifying rounds will be held in February.
Best 32 aggregate scored from these rounds will be seeded in the draw.
Method of Play: The draw will be displayed ASAP after the qualifying rounds. It will be up to all players to arrange suitable match times. NO ROUNDS TO BE PLAYED ON TUESDAYS.
The 1st round must be completed by end of March, 2nd round by end of April, 3rd round by end May, Semi final by end of June. The Final by end of July or up to a 2 week extension if approved by the match committee. The Captain, Vice Captain or other Committee member will go out with the 2 finalists.
The Rules of Golf state that Match Play cannot be played in conjunction with any other event.
If there is a dispute a player should refer the matter to the Captain before conceding.
Any 2 players level at the end of 18 holes will have to keep playing. The designated holes are 1-9 & 10-18 depending on the availability of the course.
TUESDAY 18 HOLE COMPETITION
Competition Day as defined in the Syllabus Book.
A, B, C Grades based on handicaps.
1st Tuesday of the Month is always Monthly Medal (Stroke and Putting). Played from the Permanent Markers
Stableford or other games are played from the Moveable Domes
The Handicapper is responsible for administration of the Tuesday competition.
TUESDAYS 9 HOLE COMPETITION
To be eligible for the 9 hole Competition Trophy players must play at least 6 Stableford rounds in the weekly 9 hole competition during the syllabus year.
Competition fee applies. There must be at least 2 players for a competition to take place.
Prizes – 2 players: winner will receive a ball only
3 or more players: prize money for winner
9 Hole players may enter the Pars, Birdies, Gobblers and Eclectic competitions.

MONDAY COMPETITION (held monthly)
On Monday there must be at least 4 players for a valid competition. Competition fee is paid.
Winner Only to receive prize money.
THURSDAY COMPETITIONS
The Thursday Competition is an integral part of the yearly syllabus.
There are 2 Perpetual Trophies (Medal of Medalists and Aggregate Best 8 Stableford scores) to support the Thursday Competition.
Thursday Monthly Medal: Stableford
Monthly medal is played on the 3rd Thursday of each month of the syllabus year. Played from the Permanent Markers. If a tie occurs then a count back (via Miscore) will decide the winner.

Thursday Trophy – Aggregate Stableford points for best 8, 18 Hole Stableford rounds in the syllabus year.
The Stableford Competition is played from the Red movable domes,
The Assistant Handicapper is responsible for administration of the Thursday competition.
Thursday Competition will run under the following rules:
15 players or less depending on Handicaps on the day and at the discretion of the Assistant Handicapper and Captain there will be Division 1 &/Or 2.
16-20 players: 2 Divisions determined by handicaps on the day.
21 players plus: A, B and C Grades
For a competition there must be a minimum of 6 players.
Perpetual Trophies Donated by Leonard Interiors and Rustic World Timbers.
SUMMER COMPETITION
Aggregate: 18 Holes Stableford Points for best 3 rounds out of all rounds conducted over December and January.
Gift supplied by Yarrambat Park Ladies Golf Club.
PENNANT
Open to all financial members.
YPLGC pay for away Green Fees. If a cart is required for medical reasons or members over 70, YPLGC pay.
YPLGC pay for all home games lunches.
YARRAMBAT BOWL
Eligibility is a Qualifying round as stated in the Syllabus.
Stableford round and the Winners from A, B and C Grades represent the club.
An additional team can be submitted from YPLGC if entry numbers permit.
Handicap limit is 39
BOWLS AND SALVERS
YPLGC members are encouraged to attend these throughout the year.
The Club pays Entry and Green Fee.
Members are advised of upcoming events by the Vice Captain.
Motion 8/5/2018 Suitable Budget for Bowls per year is $1600. Moved Lynette Cuthbertson Seconded Christine Byrden.
VGL EVENTS
The Club is issued a list of events for the year and members are advised in advance of an event.
The Club is encouraged to support all VGL events.
TIES AND PLAYOFFS
In the event of a tied result in any of the major competitions an 18 hole playoff will be conducted on a date to be determined by the Match Committee
PUTTING
This competition is open to all members. Best 5 putting scores returned from all Stroke rounds during the Syllabus year. No tie applies here.

MARJ PAGE TROPHY
Best 5 Gross Scores returned from all 18 Hole Stroke, Stableford or Par rounds during the Syllabus year.
Players must hold an Official Handicap over 34 to Qualify.
Should a reduction of Handicap occur during the course of the season a player is automatically ineligible for the remainder of the season.

ECLECTIC TROPHY
To be conducted during all 18 Hole Stroke, Stableford and Par rounds during the Syllabus year. Final results are taken from handicaps listed after the last official round of the Syllabus. The exact handicap is halved and then subtracted from the Eclectic score.

CONSISTENCY AWARD
Aggregate: 18 Holes of 1 Stroke, 1 Stableford and 1 Par
Method of Scoring: Take the best Scores for the designated day and rate them from 6 to 1 (6 being the points for the best score). # A count back may need to be employed. # In case of a Tie at the end of the year, do the same with ‘emergency’ dates and keep them separate. # The emergency dates are also used if the initial game is cancelled or changed.

SILVER MEDAL
· Member must be a financial member of YPLGC
· Achieve a Daily Handicap of 18 when playing on the Yarrambat course on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday competitions.
· If she achieves this handicap in another competition her medal will be presented as soon as she has played on competition round at Yarrambat off a Daily Handicap of 18.
HOLE IN ONE
Hole in One is an Eagle on a Par 3 BUT is recognised as a Hole in One.
If a Par 4 Green is under repair and made a Par 3 it will be recognised as a Hole in One But not as an Eagle.
If a Par 3 Green is under repair it will be recognised as a Hole in One.
Hole in One is recognised on Tuesday, Thursday, Monday and Tuesday 9 Hole competitions
All Temporary greens that have a Hole in One will have TG after their names on the board.
Trophy - The ball is mounted on a trophy supplied by a Yarrambat Park Ladies Golf Club.
Name on the Honour Board.
PARS, BIRDIES & GOBBLERS
New Members will be able to join for the Fee whenever they join the club.
Continuing members must pay before the first game of the Syllabus season in February.

EAGLES
Eagles are recognised on Tuesday, Thursday, Monday and Tuesday 9 Hole competitions.
Gift - 1 dozen golf balls presented on the day. Supplied by Yarrambat Park Ladies Golf Club.

2018 - Motion: That a maximum number of members is limited to 100. (This includes social and life members).
New Members:
New members interested in joining our club will be invited to come along as a guest for the day and play 9 or 18 holes.
New members will receive an information package about our club.
To obtain a handicap the new member is required to complete 3x 18 hole rounds, 6 x 9 hole rounds, or combination thereof of golf.
Cart players aged 70 and over do not require a Doctor’s certificate.
Social Members:
The Yarrambat Park Ladies Golf Club offers Social Membership status for former members; cost is $20.00 per year.
Criteria for this membership is Solely Social, strictly for non-playing members. This entitles them to a copy of the Syllabus each year, two bi-annual newsletters per year and attendance at the AGM and social events (have no voting rights at AGM etc).
Visiting Members:
Allowed to join in the days competition under the conditions they have a GA handicap and pay the competition fee.
Guests can only play a maximum of 3 times per year.
Life Members:
Life Members at any one time will limited to five ACTIVE members. To be deemed an Active Life Member the minimum requirement is that the member responds to communication from the Club.
Life Members will receive a small plaque and a medal on a bar.
Both full members and social members will eligible for life memberships.
There is a specific criteria that needs to be met to qualify for life membership.
Members Leaving:
A Motion was passed: When a member leaves the club, it is not the responsibility of the Committee to honour them, but the Committee can support the club member who takes on that responsibility. We suggest that a card be circulated for signing and members donate to a collection for a gift to be purchased.
Octogenarian Celebrations:
For all members who turn 80 in a calendar year to be held at the AGM or Christmas function of that year. A bunch of flowers and a large 80th Card for everyone to sign. VGL to supply a certificate with a YPLGC golf history.
Death of a Member:
20/08/2019 Steps to be followed by the Club may vary depending on how close the association was with the Club.
Representatives of the Club may attend the funeral.
Send flowers to the funeral home and send a condolence letter to the family. Contact details for the family can be gathered from the Medical Emergency Form
Write a small Vale tribute for the next newsletter and send a copy to the family.
If she is a current member (full, social or life) a plaque stating her name and date of death will be placed on the memorial seat (see eligibility criteria below). Note: Plaques are not done for past members.

The committee will consult re delegation of the above duties.
Memorial Seat:
Definition of who can be included on the name plate - Five years of being a member and contributing to the club.
A plaque will be placed on the seat on the passing of a current or life member.

30/03/2010 Job descriptions were drawn up for each position to be then passed on to new committee members and updated as required and given to the Secretary.
These will be included in a separate document on this website.
FUNDRAISING AND CHARITIES
3/05/2016 Raffles are run on Picnic Day, Easter, Pink Day, The Bowl and Christmas Function.
Lucky No. is run on Medal days with half the proceeds to go into the general club revenue.
We will continue to run raffles on Picnic Day, Easter, The Bowl, Pink Day & Christmas. Funds raised at each of these is firstly used to offset any shortfall incurred in running the events.
Profit on Pink Day goes to Breast Cance rResearch each year.
The chosen charity for the year will receive the proceeds from the Bowl raffle up to and not exceeding $1000.00
TAP AND GO SYSTEM:
5/03/2024 Motion made to purchase a square block and stand for $325.00 for autopayments to allow all members to TAP and GO on competition days. To commence in April 2024 with a grace period of 3 weeks be given to members to adapt to this new system. Moved A. Stott, Seconded S. Rowles.

STAKE HOLDERS MEETINGS
Nillumbik Council, Belgravia Leisure, YPLGC, YGC, and Golf Course Solutions Management attend the meetings. The stake holder meetings are held approximately 4 times a year. The YPLGC President and Captain represent the club.
